Somatic Groundwork

In a world that is increasingly about a) moving quickly, and b) looking outwards, Somatic Groundwork invites us to slow down and look inwards, surrendering fully to release anything being held in the body, relieve pain, and deeply restore the nervous system.

A session may include:

  • A few minutes of quiet breath to settle in.

  • Gentle check-ins to notice what's present in the body - tension, heaviness, emotion, or fatigue.

  • Slow, supported movement or hands-on touch that follows the body's own pace rather than pushing toward an outcome.

  • Long holds in restful positions, allowing tissue and nervous system alike to soften without being rushed.

  • Space for whatever arises to be met without judgment, letting the body release whatever it needs to. Sighs, shivers, gurgling noises, tears, laughter, are all completely normal and part of the process.

Every session is shaped around what your body and nervous system need that day, so no two sessions look quite the same, some may involve more movement, others near-total stillness. All of them are intended to deeply release and restore, calming and regulating body and mind.
